Founded in 2020 by CEO Pilgrim Jackson, PhD, Yatiri Bio, Inc. is a specialized biotechnology services company located in San Diego's biotech corridor. We leverage high-resolution, unbiased mass-spectrometry proteomics (8,000+ proteins per sample) and machine learning modeling to de-risk cancer drug development, specifically targeting Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and ovarian cancers.
Our Scientific Journey
In oncology drug discovery, identifying the exact patient populations that will respond to targeted therapies is one of the most significant challenges. According to peer-reviewed data from Wong, Siah & Lo (2019), oncology therapies face a daunting 95% failure rate when entering clinical development phases, primarily due to a lack of clinical efficacy or unexpected mechanism-of-action escape pathways.
Yatiri Bio was built to directly address this translational block. We replaced narrow, hypothesis-driven targeted panels with a high-throughput, unbiased global proteomics platform capable of identifying entire network cascades. By mapping the active proteome rather than genomic sequences alone, we expose the actual functional machinery of the cancer cell.
The NGeneBioAI Acquisition (2025)
To bridge the gap between initial biomarker discovery and certified clinical execution, Yatiri Bio executed a strategic acquisition on August 5, 2025, acquiring San Diego–based NGeneBioAI, Inc. (a Bertis-derived plasma-proteomics innovator) in an undisclosed common-stock transaction.
This transaction integrated NGeneBioAI's established CLIA- and CAP-certified laboratory infrastructure into Yatiri Bio's operations at 6335 Nancy Ridge Dr. This certification allows us to offer clinical-grade companion diagnostic development directly to our B2B partners, enabling patient-selection signatures to transition seamlessly into certified trial assays.
What is a "Yatiri"?
The name "Yatiri" is derived from the Aymara language of the Andean regions of Bolivia, Peru, and Chile. In traditional Aymara culture, a Yatiri translates to "one who knows" — a wise elder and traditional healer who interprets complex signs to restore health and balance. For Yatiri Bio, this name represents our mission to extract deep biological knowledge and translate complex computational proteomic structures into therapeutic guidance for cancer patients worldwide.
